To Knit/Sew/Crochet or *Buy* (my favourite)

Brrr it's getting cold these mornings & evenings and I'm perusing the big wide web looking for a easy to knit/or very easy to crochet "poncho" patterns. Has anyone got a favourite that they recycle year to year? Of course I would like it to have magical powers and make me look 10x slimmer (taller too would be nice) !! I'll keep looking - but if anyone can help I would love to hear from you.
